The Bubble Tea Factory @ Singapore #TBTF

pablo-2

A pop-up store about bubble tea was up in Singapore. I didn’t even know about this until a colleague mentioned it while we were on our way to Singapore. With our usual conversation topics that we go through with each trip, one of them would be ‘What are your plans at xxx?’ or ‘What will you be doing at xxx?’. That is how I came to know that there is a pop-up event about bubble tea.

My first impression upon hearing the name is to expect a place that shows the process of making a cup of bubble tea or a showcase of a mini version of bubble tea factory as the name implies. It was not what I have expected. Nonetheless, I find the even organized and have space to move around. Don’t like crowded places. Let me explain as I go with this story.

By the time I am there for the pop-up event, it was towards the end of their opening period, more like they have extended it for another month. Hence, I was able to go. As I’ve mentioned that it is not a showcase of the making of bubble tea, simply it’s a place for Instagram-worthy photos. They have different stations set up to take pictures. The way they handle the crowd is by having groups of 5 going in each time. Don’t know what is the time interval between the groups. However, when I was in there, there’s lots of time and space to move around and take photos. The staffs there would even come up to me first to help with photo taking as I was there solo. So it wasn’t a problem to go there alone. They do have a little starter pack that comes with before the start of the bubble tea factory journey. Too bad I ruined mine later that day. There are a few challenges to complete to get snacks. What I really wanted to keep were their collectable cards. They have some famous quotes or scenes whereby they replace the characters with bubble tea.

The first station had me to do my first challenge – take a photo upside down.

That’s the easiest and recommended way to get the picture taken. The introvert in me just got to bring up the courage to be thick skin and amuse myself with funny expressions pictures. With this picture, I was able to claim a free snack.

Bubble Milk Tea flavoured popcorn and biscuits.

The sets were built prettily. At least I didn’t have to wait long to take pictures. Probably just needed to wait for a person for two before it’s my turn.

The only station that has a longer waiting period is their secret room. Let me show you what’s the secret behind the door.

The first area including the secret room is one of my favourites.

The ball pit is quite big. Not what I would expect. Could easily fit 4 groups of 4-5 people at one time.

Time to get my free bubble milk tea. This time it is sponsored by Miss Tea. They have different bubble milk tea sponsors throughout their event period.

While I was getting ready to sip my bubble tea, one of the co-founders of the event came to talk to me. Well, I didn’t know that until he mentioned as he was trying to get some on-ground feedback. This was when I know that this is their first-ever event that they produced. They did get a lot of setbacks and rejection just to bring the idea to life. I mentioned my slight disappointment that it wasn’t a bubble tea factory process. I was told that they were inspired to do so, however, getting a licence from the government for F&B is not that easy in Singapore.

My favourite station is tea terminal.

I saw some of the photos that were taken here and I totally have forgotten about this station after having a prolonged conversation. Took a couple of quick photos as I was rushing to get back to my hotel. Would be really nice to have a photo with me in it. Oh well.

Came to the last station and it’s feedback time with some lovely questions to answer to hang at the wall. They have a photo booth area where you can print out 1 picture of your choice from Instagram by using their hashtag. Got my photo printed and straight away deleted the picture as it wasn’t curated properly.

Last but not least, I got myself a little souvenir to bring back.

A bubble tea plushie!

Bought my ticket online to avoid being sent away if I were to walk-in. Cost me around 24 SGD and spend about 45 mins there since I’m there alone. If I knew what would be in there, I would still pay the amount just to see what’s going on. After all, I’ve been to Singapore so many times now that it would be nice to have something else to do.

Till then, stay sane!

Making mid week more happening

Who says party is only on weekends or the next day is a weekend.
After 2 days of chilling at home with my dogs, I cam back to work only to find out that there’s an event I had to attend. At least I was dressed for the occasion minus the footwear. Oh well, it’s who you go with that’s all that matters.
Went to Signature at The Roof because it was Live Music Series! We had the 80’s Retro, Funk & Rock session. Changing current pop music into that genre.

The moment you walked into the area, there’s a ever glowing-changing-colour-wishing tree as the centre piece.
Well, it was not all about the music. They have exclusive new menu sampling too! When there is food, there is a happy Enwei!
Fresh Tataki Oyster
First dish that came to our table. The dish was so-so on my taste buds. The oyster and the topping (cheese + butter, if not mistaken) was a bit off though. Maybe it was left out in the cold for some time.
Pasta in a spoon
The pasta dish was by far a recover from where the oyster left off. It’s delicious!
We took some group pictures here and there. When we were about to leave ’cause I need to catch the train, don’t want to leave stranded on the streets, dessert came.
Signature cendol & Mud pie
The mud pie is actually chocolate ice cream and whipped cream. You can’t go wrong with chocolate ice cream. The cendol on the other hand had a nice pandan scent to it.
It was not all food but there’s free flow of beer too! Not that I can drink that much. Trying to avoid smelling like an alcoholic on the train.

It was a nice experience when you have crazy friends around!

#NNRaya Open House 2014

First time attending a Raya Open House in KL ever since I’ve started working. Also, this is the first time that Nuffnang is organising its maiden Raya Open a House. Double first experience.
Well, NNRaya for short was actually held on the last day of syawal. Timing was just nice.
They did it in a homey style at Wakana The Bungalow in Damansara Heights. In terms of landscaping, there was a lot of layering. A good place for you to do some photoshoot if you want.
I didn’t really have a lot of things to do unlike the organising committee, so I helped out in any way that I can when needed.
Lucky me, I get to be stationed at their UMobile booth where there’s less traffic and it’s in a room with aircon! It was also a cool hangout spot for a number of people because they get to make free calls in exchange for a tweet. They can call anywhere and anyone. Anywhere as in international calls too.
They also had other station where they get to play traditional games such as congkak and batu seremban.
When it comes to games, there were quite a number of competition going on. There’s a Ambi Pur talk showdown, shoot your own commercial, some Q&A session to win prizes, and many fun interactive games. The biggest prize was to complete a series of task that takes you around the house and to every station to stand a chance at the highly anticipated lucky draw. 1 lucky person gets to walk away with a brand new Samsung Galaxy S5!!!
Well, this is definitely one Raya Open house that gives out loads of prizes and buah tangan.
It was certainly fun when you have a bunch of crazy friends with you!
Thanks to Nuffnang for organising this successful event. Not forgetting the sponsors: Ambi Pur, UMobile, WoWphotobooth, Carama Castrol, Doof beab bag, and Humble Beginnings.
In the meantime, I had a star struck, fan moment when I had a short conversation with Audrey Fourfeetnine and get to carry the little #fightertiah. Totally like a once in a lifetime chance! Here’s the picture or it did not happen moment.

[NNPremiereScreening] Mr. Peabody and Sherman

I can’t wait for tonight’s premiere of Mr. Peabody and Sherman.Whee~~

Tonight I shall go time travel to different eras and countries!

How a Dog is gonna help the kids to save the world?

If you haven’t heard of this movie yet, you better go read up about it.

Basically you have a talking dog who is like a genius but have to take care and raise this human boy. Mana tau, boy got into a fight with girl, need to salvage the relationship, stay under the same roof for a period of time, boy show time machine, boy and girl go into the time machine, boy and girl go on historical adventure, all hell breaks loose, Dog need to help save the world.

I’m guessing in the end they did save the world and got everything back on track with the history records.

Gonna see what era and where they are traveling too. Could see what country I can plan my backpack trip.

Traveling in time with Nuffnang and ChurpChurp tonight in #NNPremiereScreening and #Churpremiere! Thanks guys for the tickets!

[Churpremiere] Need For Speed

I got a need for speed and people knows about that!

I got premiere tickets to watch it before it hits the cinema… This is just awesome. All thanks to ChurpChurp for this #Churpremiere tickets!

All I can say it’s that the movie is all for the cars. Storyline wise, your typical got framed, go to jail, come back out for vengeance.

Something to look out for is this helicopter and car scene.

Imagine if you were dangling mid air in the car going across the ocean. Err… Not fun at all for the first minute.
But but… the only cast that caught my attention was Imogen Poots.

Okay. She looks so much better without that fringe.

Doesn’t she looks like Kate Winslet?

 Fan girl crush moment.

So what I heard is that the whole movie is a product placement for the new Ford Mustang. Well, if I could afford it, why not add into the collection?

Lots of expensive cars destroyed along the way. geddit??
I only have one question though. How would the winner of the race gets the other cars if they are all smashed and police are there surrounding it? Does it mean that they just win the title and able to keep the car they are driving only?

Waste of horsepowers.

Happy 7th B’day/Anniversary

Another year ending means another year I’m having my blog running!
7 years is a long time. Looking back at my posts from way back when, what was I thinking back then? Such posts can come out from me. But nonetheless, they are part of me and it brought me through thus far. Though it is not a big hit in the social media world but that’s okay. It is not what I wanted when I first started out this blog. It was out of boredom and a place for me to spend my time.
My blog layout has changed over the years.

At first I wanted something more of a natural colour skim but turns out it looks kinda boring after awhile
Then decided to change it and put a big picture of myself once you enter my blog. Hence:
A girl-ier version for the layout.
Gonna stick to this for the meantime before I could find a nicer template to replace this current one.
After all these years, my blog is still going through some peak and mostly off peak season with the blog posts. After 6 years I’m still finding bits of myself along the way. Maybe for every blog anniversary I should put up my New Year resolution. Making it a time to reflect on my undertakings for the year to come. A time to reflect on what can I do more for my blog and for my life.
After all, my blog is my little corner.
